Customer Story

Who are they and why did they need my help?

Make Social is a social media agency aimed at women running their own businesses. Their mission is to give women the tools they need to feel empowered to market themselves with confidence and clarity.

Carly and Mel were working with a business coach and in the process of refining their purpose as a business. They were looking for new website copy that aligned with their updated vision and a series of blog posts to get them started.

Where I came into the picture

A fellow freelance copywriter who felt the project wasn’t quite right for her recommended me to Carly and Mel. They got in touch to talk through what they were looking for and we had a brilliant session on Zoom, immediately clicking.

What happened next

I created a discovery deep dive for Mel and Carly to work through and they sent me a really useful collection of voice notes. When working with a business that has its own tone but also needs to capture the distinct voices of two team members I find it even more important to focus on natural language to make sure both people are faithfully represented in my copy.

This was an interesting (and at some points slightly tricky) project to work on as it kept evolving! As Mel and Carly were working with a business coach at the same time as working with me, their needs changed as new goals and approaches emerged.

They identified new elements to their offering that they wanted to launch and so, on top of the original website copy, the brief expanded to include a lead magnet, landing pages and email sequences to tie everything together and promote the services.

Where that left Mel and Carly

With a new website that reflected their updated mission and a solid funnel in place for promoting their new services Mel and Carly were ready to put their offering out there and convert their ideal clients.
